The Blue Hill Falls Bridge (Falls Bridge) was constructed in 1926, as an overhead concrete arch bridge spanning between the reversing falls across Salt Pond leading to the Atlantic Ocean in Blue Hill, Maine. At the time of construction, the arch design was new and was expected to last 100 years.

In early 2021, ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵAPP’s work at The Wharf in Washington, D.C., drew the attention of the Tall Ship Providence Foundation (TSPF). Impressed, TSPF approached ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵAPP with a new project: constructing a permanent berth for the Providence, a replica of the 18th-century ship that was one of the first to be authorized by the Continental Congress to form the Continental Navy.

A New Endeavor Brings Work to a Familiar Location
²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵAPP’s history in Madison, Maine, runs deep. In the 1980s, ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵAPP, in a joint venture, built a state-of-the-art paper machine at the Madison Paper Mill. At the time, the project was considered one of the largest industrial and manufacturing projects that the company had ever taken on. With the expansion of the new paper machine, the mill was one of North America’s largest producers of supercalendered paper for magazine publications.
